Sustainability
Sustainability is vital to NPC’s history and a long-term commitment to our community. Here are some ways we work to reduce our carbon footprint, conserve water and reduce landfill waste.
NPC Recycling converts plastic scrap into usable regrind or pre-colored pellets. This keeps plastic waste from landfills and offers cost-saving benefits as well.
We collaborate with the nation’s best water treatment experts to recycle and effectively control production process water usage.
Collecting and reusing dust within the production facility reduces landfill waste by thousands of pounds per year.
We are registered with the North American Renewable Energy Registry and are part of Renewables Direct, a wind energy program by our Kansas energy vendor.
NPC works with pigment vendors to actively reduce our carbon footprint. Our carbon black supplier is ISO 14040 and 14004 certified for CO2 emission reduction, and our TiO2 supplier offers a product that reduces processors’ carbon footprint by 7%.
